Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect when you visit joelhaus.com or place an order, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated 15 September 2026.

Who we are

JOEL HAUS is operated by JoelHaus Group LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, of 8 The Green, Ste B, Dover, DE 19901, United States. We are the party responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at service@joelhaus.com.

What we collect

  • Order information — your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought.
  • Account information — if you create an account, your email address, password (stored encrypted, never in readable form), and any addresses you save.
  • Correspondence — the emails you send us and our replies.
  • Technical information — your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you viewed, recorded by our host in its server logs.

Payments

Card payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number. It goes directly from your browser to the payment provider, and we receive only a confirmation, the last four digits, and the card type. Each provider handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind:

  • Essential — keep your bag, your session and your login working.
  • Preference — remember choices such as light or dark appearance.
  • Order attribution — WooCommerce records how you first arrived at the shop (for example from a search engine or a link) so we can understand which channels bring visitors. This is not shared with anyone.
  • Fraud prevention — Stripe sets a cookie to detect fraudulent payments.

We do not run Google Analytics, a Meta pixel, or any advertising network on this site. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; essential cookies are needed for the bag and checkout to work.

How we use your information

  • To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
  • To handle returns, refunds and customer enquiries.
  • To keep the records that tax and business law require us to keep.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent orders.

We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it, and every such email carries an unsubscribe link. We do not add customers to a marketing list simply because they bought something.

Who we share it with

We share only what is needed, only with parties that help us run the shop, and never for their own marketing:

  • Payment providers — Stripe, PayPal.
  • Shipping carriers — your name and delivery address, so your parcel can be delivered.
  • Our hosting provider — which stores the site and its database on our behalf.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and business-record law requires, generally up to seven years. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete the account. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful for supporting you, and then deleted.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete your information, or
  • send you a copy in a portable form.

Email service@joelhaus.com from the address on your order and we will act on your request. We may need to keep certain order records even after a deletion request, where tax law requires it; if so, we will tell you what we kept and why. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

California residents

If you live in California, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the rights listed above, together with the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not collect sensitive personal information as that term is defined, so there is nothing to opt out of. The rights above are exercised through the same email address.

Children

This shop is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored hashed, and card details never reach our systems. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we will tell affected customers promptly if a breach ever puts their information at risk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
